Jill DeCaro Elected to Old Bridge Town Council
Thank you to all who voted in the March 22nd special election. I am honored to soon be sworn in as the new Ward 4 town council representative. I am sharing my election night thank you speech here, originally shared on social media:
"Good things come to those who wait, and I am overjoyed to represent Ward 4 on the Old Bridge Town Council! It may have taken a few months (and one extra election) longer than expected, but the voters have spoken and I am incredibly honored to have their support.
My next four years will be spent serving as your council representative, and I look forward to every minute of it. These past two elections proved that every vote matters, but a special thanks is owed to those who poured their support into my campaign. This is no small accomplishment, and it is yours to share whether you placed yard signs, knocked on doors, donated to the campaign, or showed your support on social media. This victory would not have occurred without you.
Most of all, I am eager to make good on my promise to return our council's focus to local issues. As a member of a Democratic minority on council, I pledge to work across the aisle in good faith with my Republican colleagues. It is my great hope that they will in turn invite such collaboration, as whether we are building a park or paving a road, working on local issues is the true work of a town council. This is where party affiliation should bear no meaning. This is where we are one Old Bridge.
To everyone who voted for me, I cannot thank you enough."
